Gimbawali

On Monday the 14th of September, students in choir, signing choir and the dance group went to the Sydney Opera House to give a marvellous performance at the annual ‘Gimbawali’ concert.
The name ‘Gimbawali’ is a Dharug word, meaning that every student has the potential to shine. Students spend months practicing singing, choir harmonies and dance routines during lunch breaks, class times or before school. They work very hard and do an outstanding job at following their hearts. Big thank you to the endless work the teachers put into this performance too. (Mrs Krestovsky, Ms Wilson, Mrs Hartman, Miss Perangeli and Mrs Burgess).
The dance group reached the Opera House at around 7 am. The choir remained at the school for longer until lunch. A multitude of students from other public schools take part in a massive collaborative celebration of music, dance and cultural arts that culminates in a grand performance at the Opera House.
The stage shone with the efforts of the students this year and we couldn't be more proud!!
