Lunchtime clubs spark leadership

Mortlake students are building confidence through student-led lunchtime clubs and leadership opportunities.

At Mortlake Public School, student voice is helping shape a vibrant and connected school community. Through Student-Led Interest Groups, students are taking the lead by creating, organising, and running lunchtime clubs based on their own interests and passions.

From Yo-Yo Club and Lego Club to Beading, Crocheting, and AFL Club, these activities are giving students the chance to connect with others, share their skills, and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

Fully supervised by staff, the clubs encourage creativity, teamwork, and leadership while giving students greater choice in their school experience.

By empowering students to lead, the school is helping develop important lifelong skills and creating opportunities for every child to feel known, valued, and included. It is wonderful to see students supporting one another and making such a positive contribution to school life.

HPGE Program

At Mortlake Public School, we believe every child has unique strengths, whether creative, intellectual, physical or social-emotional. Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program is designed to identify those talents and help students reach new heights through enrichment, extension and accelerated learning.
